Productivity is a skill that needs to be constantly honed. We cannot control time, but we can use it more efficiently. Many people don’t even think of improving their productivity as they are satisfied with the rhythm of their life. But if you want to make more in less time these productivity tips are for you.
Wake up earlier.
Even if you are not a lark and it’s very difficult for you to wake up early in the morning, you still can train a good habit and have a chance to become an early bird. Try to gradually accustom yourself to waking up earlier. This will give you extra time for work, hobbies, and other stuff.
Do not use the phone or other devices immediately after sleeping.
We take the phone to reply to the message, but then we start looking at the Facebook notifications. As a result, we easily spend another 15 minutes looking at the news feed. And after looking through Facebook how not to check Instagram? And so on in a circle. But the morning hours are the best time for introspection and creating the mood for a successful day. Take a few minutes to meditate to clear your mind and you will see the changes in your day.
Create a to-do list.
Make a list of things to do during the day. Do not prescribe grand tasks, specify the tasks that you can do during the day. Try to figure out the system that works the best for you. For example, you can choose the 3 most difficult tasks in the first half of the day and focus on finishing them before moving on to the next arrangements. Or if you know that you are more productive in the second half of the day you can do some easy tasks at the beginning of the day.
Workplace.
Creative chaos is great, but in practice, your attention will be distracted. The workplace affects our productivity. When we work in comfortable, light, and cozy conditions, then we do more, get tired less, and give out great ideas more often. It is also important to have a clean email account and unsubscribe from all unwanted emails and newsletters you no longer want to receive.
Take on more difficult tasks.
Don’t try to focus on everything at once. Accordingly, set aside urgent matters for yourself and focus on their accomplishments. By doing several things at once, your mind is divided between them, so it is natural that your mistakes will multiply.
Smile more often.
Scientists have proven that a smile reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease and as a result increases work efficiency.
Limit the time of using social networks.
Don’t forget to take a break from Instagram or Facebook, as they will only distract you from really important things. You can also limit the amount of time you spend writing emails and talking to friends during the day. If you need to tell them something important, you can send a voice message for example to get this done faster.
Do sports.
The phrase “in a healthy body – a healthy spirit” will never lose its relevance. Sport is synonymous with productivity. Get used to training or walking in the park. It will give you would and body extra energy.
Say no.
Being able to refuse is normal. When you have a lot of work and little time, do not take on an extra workload. Do not try to live up to other people’s expectations and help everyone, it’s impossible. Help yourself first.
Get enough sleep. Your chances of productivity are dramatically reduced with constant sleep deprivation. If you sleep less than 7 hours, then it is time to change this habit. Otherwise, fatigue will accumulate and it will be difficult for you to focus on doing something.
